A 30-year-old man tried to slash his father with a parang after he was ticked off for “living in sin” with his girlfriend.
Harian Metro reported that the father, who could not tolerate the couple living together, had also advised the son to marry his girlfriend to prevent the neighbours from gossiping.
According to a source, the son had been living with his girlfriend for the past year.
In the incident, which occurred at about 8am in their flat, the father also informed the girlfriend that she could no longer stay in their house.
This caused the son to lose his temper and he started breaking the furniture and windows in the flat before he rushed into a room and brought out a parang.
“He then tried to slash his father. However, the father managed to run out of the flat.
“When a relative tried to intervene, the son threatened to throw him down the flat. They struggled before the relative escaped,” said the source.
The son left after seeing his father and relative flee. However, fearing for their safety, the father and relative lodged a police report.
The father had lodged several reports against his son, who is believed to be a drug addict and an alcoholic.

Comments;
Currently we heard a lot of immoral stories from the news paper and also from the media. What are we going to do? This is the result when we as parent do not monitor our kids from an early stage. We giving them too much freedom, money, never asked what they do, never checked their school bag and giving them anything they asked for.
Now days school children get hand phone, too much money and we never bother to check them. We always assumed our kid is a good kid, yes but we need to know what they do and where they spend their money.
Today, we can see students in the shopping complex with schooling attire, playing snooker, couples in the dark corners and nobody cares.
The above story is the result of our action for not giving our children proper guidance and not letting other peoples interfere. We should be very thankful if other peoples remind us of our children bad behaviour, at least for us to check whether its true or not.
